Pharmacist (m/f) in Sales

For pharmacists that are interested in entrepreneurial action and have the required communications skills, working in the pharmaceutical industry in a sales position is an interesting alternative to positions in production, quality control and regulatory affairs. The traditional entry-level position in sales is a field-service job.

Pharmacists who want to climb a top-management position may leverage a field-service job as starting position. Quite often, managing directors or members of the board have started their professional career in the field service.

Those who want to develop their professional career within the field service division, may work as field-service director with responsibility for more customers and larger revenues and also take over personnel responsibility for 10-12 employees.

Field-service experience can also be a very useful qualification for product management or medical marketing tasks. For some of the research-conducting companies proven sales experience is a mandatory requirement to start to work in other areas.
